What games are available?
Mrs. S will fire up the Wii and will feature a different Wii game every half hour for kids of all ages to enjoy. Come challenge your friends in Mario & Sonic @ the London Olympic Games, Wii Sports Resort or Mario Kart. At the end of the day teens can compete in Super Smash Bros. We'll keep you entertained and challenged all day.
We'll also feature special events:
* Join the Twister challenge as Ms. Karen works hard to knock you off your feet! How long can you stay in the game?
* How good is your memory? Find out in a fast paced game of Locomotion Memory!
* If you like Twister, come and learn the game that is a "twist" on Twister...Twister Hoopla! It's a blast!
There is lots to do! You'll have fun every minute you're here!
Did you know that games are good for your child?
You can come and have a great time playing games all afternoon, but did you know there are also many benefits of playing games with your child or encouraging your child to play with friends:
1. Board games can teach important social skills, such as communicating verbally, sharing, waiting, taking turns, and enjoying interaction with others, as well as learning to win or lose gracefully.
2. Board games can foster the ability to focus and lengthen your child's attention span by encouraging the completion of an exciting, enjoyable game.
3. Games of luck can help teach your child not to give up. Just when it seems like your behind, a lucky roll of the dice may change your game.
4. Strategy games teach problem solving and thinking skills. Waiting for your turn takes patience, and observing your opponent's move will help you decide how to make your next move.
These are just a few of the many benefits of playing games with your child, but remember there is one very important one. What your child most needs and wants is to be with you with no goal in mind beyond the joy of spending time together. Make time for your child. Take pleasure in being together, playing together and listening to each other. Nothing bolsters self-esteem more!
What about adults?
Adults can come on down and enjoy games too! We'll have a special section of games just for the grown ups. Adults 18 years & up can also register to play Pawling SiteSearch! We've hidden 8 logos on our web site and each one has a clue. Follow the trail and find all of the clues to reveal a dewey decimal number. Track the book down on our shelves and you'll win raffle tickets to enter in our prize drawing. You might win:
