Young reporters learn the art of journalism at library
A group of youngsters are honing their journalistic skills at the Pawling Free Library this summer. Patrons will notice them moving about the various programs, armed with pencils, notepads and cameras, as they cover a variety of events taking place each week.
In this programs, these youngsters are learning the basic tenets of journalism as well as how to interview people, take their notes and turn them into a news story to be shared with the library community. They are an enthusiastic and talented group of young people who are fun to work with.
On their first day of work, they interviewed each other and wrote a small, introductory piece on the person they interviewed. Now patrons can know a little something about the reporters covering their events and interviewing them!
